The purpose of the study is a comprehensive assessment of the collection samples of filmy oats in terms of yield and productivity elements using breeding indices. Field research in the period 2022–2024 was carried out at the experimental site for studying the genetic diversity of cultivated plants of the University of Tyumen biostation «Lake Kuchak» (57°20' north and 66°03' east), Nizhnetavdinsky district, Tyumen region. The soil of the experimental site is cultivated sod–podzolic, sandy loam in granulometric composition (humus content – 3,67 %, pH – 6,6). The temperature and humidity regime of the growing season over the years of the study is contrasting. The hydrothermal coefficient varied as follows: 0,92 (2022), 0,78 (2023) and 1,24 (2024). The object of the study was 18 samples of filmy oats of various ecological and geographical origin from the world collection of the Federal Research Center «All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources named after N.I. Vavilov» (VIR). The assessment of the prospects of cultivating collection samples was carried out according to the list of breeding indices used for most grain crops. According to the results of the study, the variability of average grain yields in the collection of filmy oats was recorded in the presence of contrasting meteorological conditions of the growing season: 297,2 g/m2 (2024) – 501,8 g/m2 (2022). The increase in oat yields over the entire study period is significantly associated with the indicators of panicle productivity: grain weight (r = 0,55*...0,87*) and lake level (r = 0,55*...0,76*). Valuable genotypes of oat collection samples over the years of research on yield, productivity indicators, and morphometric characteristics of the plant were noted: «Alaman» (k-15346, Kazakhstan), «KSI 542/05» (k-15333, Russia) and «KSI 2167/03» (k-15331, Russia). According to an index assessment based on a set of yield indicators and productivity elements, promising filmy oat samples with the potential for cultivation in contrasting meteorological conditions of the growing season in the south of the Tyumen region were identified: «KWS Contender» (k-15376, Germany), «Scorpion» (k-15377, Germany) and «Envis» (k-15243, Great Britain).
