The objective of the study is to characterize the epizootic situation for the main equine helminthiasis and evaluate the efficacy of feeding antiparasitic grain feed pellets to horses kept in herds for intestinal helminthiasis in the Altai Republic. The primary research was conducted at livestock farms in the Shebalinsky District, with data from other regions of Gorny Altai also included. To assess gastrointestinal helminth infestation in horses, the Kotelnikov-Khrenov helminthoscopy and Berman-Orlov larvoscopy methods were used. The average number of eggs per gram of feces was determined using the VIGIS method, followed by calculation of infestation prevalence and intensity, abundance index, and parasite complex structural index. Helminth-ovolarvoscopic examination of coprological material allowed us to characterize the epizootic situation for equine helminthiasis in the Shebalinsky District. The prevalence of gastrointestinal strongyloid infestations in horses ranged from 74.3 to 100 %, with an average infection rate of 369.7 % to 895.8 helminth eggs per gram of feces. Ascarid and anoplocephalid infestations ranged from 4.2 to 41.2 %. The prevalence of all helminth groups infestations ranged from 79.5 to 100 %, with an average infection rate of 526.3 % to 1184.1 helminth eggs per gram of feces. The helminthic complex of the equine gastrointestinal tract is primarily composed of nematodes of the suborder Strongylata, with representatives of the subfamily Cyathostominae dominating. The main helminthiases are intestinal strongylosis, parascariosis, and anplocephalidosis. Horses are mostly infested with strongylates of the subfamily Cyathostominae (90.1 %), while the infestation rates of Strongylus equinus, Strongylus edentatus, and Strongylus vulgaris are 21.6; 10.8 and 5.4 %, respectively. Grain feed granules containing the active ingredients albendazole and avermectin-C (PKG-AA) were used as an antiparasitic drug for helminthiases in horses, at a dose of 2.5 g per kg of animal weight. Group feeding of grain feed pellets provided high efficiency in strongylosis of the gastrointestinal tract, parascariosis and anaplocephalidosis of horses (90.1–100 %).
